Not much has been going on in my life, yet I feel the need to post something. xD

It's hard to believe that January's almost gone. This month has gone by way too quickly. Work has been kind of weird-- some days, it's awesome; other days, it's just shit. Hopefully I have more awesome days in the future.

I've been talking a lot more with my sister, so that's been nice.

I'm also having a really good time with this guy Lovebug set me up with. He's a little younger than me, but he's really sweet and easy to get along with. We're having our third date(?) on Wednesday hopefully, so... yeah. Not bad for having just met him on the 10th.

I've been keeping up with my diet and fitness stuff religiously over the past few weeks, and it's paid off. I can fit into a smaller size! :D I'm at 16W right now, but I can wear 14W stuff. The 14W is the smallest plus size, so after that... I'll be in normal sizes. I don't think I've been in a normal size since my sophomore/junior year of high school. I'm probably going to cry when the day comes that I'm able to fit into a regular 18 or 16.

Taking the semester off has been pretty nice. I've been keeping track of all of the movies I've watched and the books I've read. So far, for January I have read 10 books and watched 6 movies. Not too shabby. In addition, Ana and I have been marathoning Ronin Warriors, which has been amazing.

Short post for tonight, but I'm trying to finish up laundry before I head to bed. :D All in all, January's been a pretty decent month.

Wow. Hi there, LJ. Been a while. Over 2 1/2 months since I last posted anything on here.

A lot of stuff has happened since October 12th. I finished up all of the classes I need to get my AA, though I'm technically graduating in the spring. My birthday came and went in November, which was fun. Thanksgiving was also a nice time. December 3rd happened, along with December 8th. [livejournal.com profile] hyper_amychao's birthday, the Solstice Party, and Christmas also happened.

My birthday was a lot of fun this year. A bunch of my friends ended up going to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, then Pappadeaux for dinner. There ended up being about 12 of us altogether, so it was quite a big group. My sister's birthday was also on October 30th, so I ended up going to the party she had. I met her boyfriend for the first time, and a bunch of her friends from school.

[livejournal.com profile] hyper_amychao had her birthday on December 5th, which ended up being a lot more relaxed than mine. A few of us went to Old C's and had dinner, just chilling for the majority of it.

Christmas was nice this year. My dad, sister and I ended up going out to Brush Christmas Day, which was the first time I'd been back there since my grandmother passed away four or five years ago. The Solstice party was also a good time; we ended up watching really bad movies and having large amounts of Puppy Chow. <3

Nothing really notable in my acquisitions this year, but I did get a lot of books and movies. I also got some snow boots from my dad, which will come in handy when we do actually get snow here.

Okay, must get ready for work.

I think my icon perfectly sums up my mood at the moment.

The Friends of the Library had their annual book sale this weekend. Today, from 4 to 6 p.m., they had the $5.00 bag sale. I dragged [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] there, since we were already hanging out. xD I got a ton of books, including a cookbook and some ~romance~ novels. Overall, I was quite pleased.

[Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] and I were there for more than one reason, however. We've decided to... read Twilight. I, for one, am curious to see what the big deal is about, and if they do actually suck as much as people say they do.

The book sale didn't have any copies, so we got two copies of the first book from the library. We've already made it through the first two chapters, and right now I want to punch Bella in the face. She reminds me so much of a Mary Sue: all of the boys love her, everyone wants to talk to her and be her friend, and she's way too stuck up about how smart she is. She is also too whiny, and the dialogue in these first two chapters is so bad. Hopefully we can make it through the first book. xD

Work has been busy; school has been "meh." I need to start thinking about applying to CSU, even though there are so many things I need to do at Front Range first.

On the dating front- I've gone out on at least four (I think) coffee dates since I started doing the LoveBug thing. That's four more dates than I've had in the past year and a half. Too bad I haven't liked any of the guys I've been matched with. No chemistry whatsoever, and some of them have been jerks. Hopefully someone will come along that I'll actually feel something with.

On the plus side, I've lost a little over 18 pounds since the beginning of September.

Wow, it's been a long time since I've updated. xD I'm thinking about getting a Facebook, simply because people seem to use that a lot more than LJ. And also so I can play games and waste my time that way. But we'll see if I do end up getting one or not.

Ummm, let's see! The 28th was the Lady Gaga concert at the Pepsi Center, which was in a word: awesome. I had a good time, my friends seemed like they had a good time, and it was great to just dance to some good pop music.

I started a diet on the 26th; I think it's going pretty well! It's one of those diets that make you eat five or six times a day, which is something I'm still struggling with. Normally I eat two meals a day. So I've pretty much cut out all of the snacks they tell you to eat, since I feel full pretty much all of the time. I've also forgotten to eat breakfast most of the days since I started, but hopefully I'll start to get into the habit of doing that. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] has been awesome in helping me with the diet; she's been cooking dinner for me and helping me keep on track. [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] also hooked up the Wii Fit for me, so I'm going to try and get up early to use that for at least half an hour every morning.

Work has been one pain in the ass after another. There's so much drama going on at the office right now; it's been a challenge to muster up the energy to even face it every day. One of my coworkers is an idiot, but when everyone complains about her to our boss, we're suddenly "picking on her" and "ganging up on her." In my opinion, if a lot of people complain about this particular woman, shouldn't that show that something is obviously wrong with the way she works? My boss is sacrificing the office morale for the sake of one person, and it's pissing me off. I've decided I'm done with all of that stuff-- I'm going to go in, do my work, and go home; hopefully I'll be able to skirt a lot of the stuff that's going on.

Sheena is also having a party on the 7th, and I honestly don't want to go now after everything that's happened in the last week. But, I already agreed to go, and I'm hoping it won't be as bad as I think. We'll see how I feel on Saturday, though.

My sister is home from CU for about a week or so; we're going to go have lunch tomorrow. Hopefully things will be better between us now than they were on my birthday. xD We did manage to have a civilized conversation on Sunday, when I went over to my parent's home for breakfast before my dad and I took a bike ride.

School starts on the 23rd, which will be nice. I won't feel so lazy every day when I get home from work, as long as I have a class to look forward to. I'm only taking Meteorology and then I'll finally be done at Front Range, so I'm hoping that I'll do well.

Other than that, not much has been going on. Just replaying some old video games and getting through a few books in my stack.

I really question my sanity sometimes.

It's stupid to get depressed over a fricking book series. There's a reason why it's called fiction.

Ugh, I can't take this. I'm going to bed.

Yesterday was pretty productive! I went to Book Lover's and traded in some books I had finished, eventually picking out 10 new ones for my reading pleasure. And I'm a little over halfway through The Last Legion. I've had that books for several years and hadn't read it, so I'm glad to finally be doing that.

Joe, Kira and I also saw Kick-Ass last night. I really enjoyed it! It was a fun flick, and I'll be sure to check out the sequel when it's released. I also watched Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog last night before bed. Neil Patrick Harris is so adorable.

Pick 20 movies/anime/video games/literary works and put their summaries from Better than it Sounds ( http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BetterThanItSounds ) and WITHOUT CHEATING have your friends guess.

Everything under here! )

Three weeks ago, I borrowed a few books from the library. One of them is a 589 page book, entitled "The Good War": An Oral History of World War II.

I just finished reading it today. And that makes me incredibly disappointed in myself. Normally I don't have any problems finishing a 589 page book once I pick it up and start reading. Why did this one take so long? Now I have to renew the other 5 books I borrowed at the same time, since they're due tomorrow and I haven't even had a chance to start any of them.

Sigh. But, on a good note, a lady complimented me at work yesterday. That made the rest of my day go by happily, especially since I was at the front desk all day.
jupiterhalo: ([Supernatural] Four score and...)
Been a pretty busy couple of weeks! :D

School is in full swing by now. I need to go to the Vidiot sometime soon and pick out a few movies to watch for my class. One of the assignments my teacher gave us is to watch a movie set in the Middle Ages and do a "History or Hollywood" type assignment with it. I think I've also picked out a person to do my first biography on, which is due in less than two weeks. I've also found that eating something before class will help me not fall asleep. xD

Let's see... I started my second job cleaning on Friday. It's not very hard; there's just a lot to do and it's very tedious. However, it's an extra $175 a month that will go right into my savings. :D And I only have to do it once every two weeks. It should get easier as time goes on.

I hung out with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com] on Friday. That was really fun, as I needed to unwind after two and half hours of straight cleaning. We got dinner and watched Zombieland. I liked it a lot, and I'm happy that they're going to make a sequel to it. Then, on Saturday, I went to see a movie with [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]. We saw When in Rome, which was very cute. And funny, too, without being really stupid. That unfortunately overlapped with Shaun's birthday party, but I don't think he's too upset about me not being there.

I've also finally beaten Resident Evil 5, which is kind of sad that it took me this long to beat it. Having my own 360 helped a lot with that, though. I'm in the process of replaying it, and can hopefully unlock a better alternate costume for Chris than his stupid Safari zebra outfit.

I headed to the library and a few stores today. Got a lot of books at the library, including the rest of the Tales of the Otori series and a few books on World War II, in addition to the books I got for my biography project. I also found a Jensen Ackles movie for $3.00 while I was out shopping. It sounds really lame, but... for three bucks, I couldn't resist.

Hmmm... yeah, I thought I had more to say, but I think that's it.
jupiterhalo: (Dean Winchester)
So, I saw the Dragonball movie last night with a few of my friends. xD It actually wasn't as bad as I had expected it to be! I really liked Bulma (who was played by Emmy Rossum... wtf) and Yamcha. Goku was pretty bad, and I was definitely amused to see Chow-Yun Fat as Master Roshi. I probably won't own it, but I'd likely see it again if I had the chance. The new Harry Potter trailer was also playing before the movie, and that was awesome. I can't wait for July. x3

Tonight, Shannon, Jason, Joe and I are also going to this concert called Video Games Live. The Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra is going to be performing orchestral pieces from different video games. That is going to be so kickass! I hope that they something from the Resident Evil series, but something tells me that's not going to happen.

The weather here has been so odd lately. It was nice for the first half of the week, until Thursday. It started raining this really cold rain, and by Friday it had turned into this really weird slushy rain/snow. That stopped yesterday, but it was still really cold and wet. Today, it's all sunshine and warmth. Wtf, Colorado weather? xD

I bought a few new books yesterday. I finished one, and am about a third of the way through my other one. However, I can't read any more of it until I get through Parakiss and work on my Arashi application for [livejournal.com profile] clairbourn. xo Ana and I have been talking about RP business, and that's really helping me get my spark back for roleplaying.

I'm hungry. I should go get some food and then work on that, before we leave for the concert.
jupiterhalo: (American Psycho)
Wheee! So, Friday was my birthday. :D I took the afternoon off from work and relaxed before meeting everyone for dinner at Woody's. At work, Debra made me a sign and bought me a cake, while Debbie and Darcie got me cards. x3 That definitely helped to counter the disappointment I felt when I got a call from the lady handling our rent application. According to her, we "make too much money" and so she can't approve us. T_T That's totally untrue, but at this point I don't even want to live there anymore. So! It's time to look for something else.

Dinner with everyone was really fun; I wasn't expecting so many people to actually show up! So, this birthday's definitely been one of the most fun that I've had.

Saturday, four of us headed down to Denver and went to the Museum of Nature and Science. It was a lot of fun! I haven't been to the museum since my... junior or senior year of high school. The Planetarium was awesome, along with the Dinosaur exhibit. xD The IMAX Dinosaur movie was such a letdown, though. After we finished at the museum, we went to two anime stores and the Park Meadows Mall (which is gigantic, by the way o_o). At the first anime store we went to, there was this annoying guy who kept hitting on me. xD; He even told me before I left that he thought I was really hot. o_O It was like "Uh yeah, awkward..."

But I did end up buying a lot of schist today. xD I got four new manga series to try out, a Aucifer single, and an Initial D thing (originally, we all thought that it was supposed to be a PC game, but it's really just a CD-ROM with information about the show and stuff). It came with a really cool dog tag! :D

So, I guess that everyone is doing a cosplay event at the mall today. xD It should be fun! I'm looking forward to the trivia part of the event. :D

And with that, here are some memes, stolen from [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]!

This weekend was actually really productive!

I watched some movies and cleaned up a lot of my room, went supply shopping for work and bought some more stuff for my desk at home, and rearranged some of the books on my shelves. I need to get a shoe rack for my door, however.

I also finished Acheron in about... four or five days. :D That's not too bad, considering how little time I had to read. I felt like going to the library today and getting some more books, but I decided to check out the new Super Target and look for a new messenger bag. I didn't find anything there, nor at TJMaxx or Ross, so I'm going to look when I go to Denver the weekend before school starts. Hopefully I can find something at Flatirons or something.

I still have a ton of laundry to do, and more cleaning. >_> Plus, training all day tomorrow. At least I've been getting a chance to sleep in a little! I could definitely get used to that.

Edit: Curses! Why can't I lose weight? >_> I just weighed myself, and I weigh even more than I did the last time I checked! Wtf! I'm trying to cut back on meals and eating more soup and stuff, as well as healthier meals... so what gives? Stupid body. I wish I was thin.
jupiterhalo: (Default)
And bleh Maki is bleh. xD;

So, I just had a shower, and that was good. Although, what pissed me off is that the red in my hair is still washing out, and I ran out of hot water. That doesn't make any sense at all, because even though my showers last 10 minutes, I only use about 5 or 6 minutes worth of water. >_>;

Work tonight at Macy's was stressful, and it got even worse when I was wrangled into taking some more hours there that I don't want or need. I need to start focusing on school stuff, and fast, because there is a lot of stuff I need to be doing for my class that I don't feel like I have the time for.

The good news is that I bought four books in the last two days. x3 It makes me happy that my library is continuing to expand. I also finished the sixth HP book. Snape! @_@

Well, here is a list of things I want to do in the next few days:

*Do my taxes.
*Get some of my schoolwork done (like the biography that is due on Wednesday-- I haven't even picked a person for that yet. @_@).
*Balance my checkbook.
*Do some of those memes I have a list for. Speaking of, is there anyone who would like to request a pairing/fandom/whatever for that drabble meme? I'm still trying to decide what I want to do (even though it shouldn't be hard >_>;), but I really want to write something. So, that offer is open to anyone willing to take it up!

And here is a meme, stolen from [livejournal.com profile] san_toki.

Even though I slept for a long time (about 8 hours), it still feels like I haven't slept at all.

Part of that was because one of my managers called me at 9:45, asking if I could work. xD

The other part was that when I went to sleep, I kept having nightmares. Seriously! Every single time... it was so frustrating. T_T I'm just so done with all of this-- why does it have to show up in my dreams?

At least I finshed the book Darcie gave me!
jupiterhalo: (Say what?!)
Work has totally been keeping me down lately. xO This past week I had 38 hours scheduled... it's good money, but still. xD People just don't seem to realize that I need my days off, too. Of course, I could always turn them down, but... if I do, I feel bad. And I'd like to think that because I'm taking their shifts now, if I need some covered in the future they'll do the same. But, yeah. I'm finally going to get Tina-chan her CD player with this week's big paycheque~! That's exciting.

On another note, what's not so exciting? My first gross experience at Macy*s. xD It's kind of hard to believe that I've been there almost two years, and have now only run into something really nasty in the fitting rooms. I've been around when other people have had their experiences, but it's never happened to me personally. It's nothing too bad compared to what some of my friends have experienced, but... still. xD Anyway, when I was working my shift on Friday, I found a used diaper in the fitting room. T_T It was very gross... even a little warm, still. xD; *sigh* I swear, people are just odd in what they think is acceptable behavior in public places.

And I hate my date with David about a week or so ago! It was pretty fun... we went bowling and then went to Starbucks after that. :D He wants to go mini golfing when we get together next... or he wants to take me to a shooting range and teach me how to shoot a gun. xD; He has some very strange ideas, I think. But both sound fun to me~

And I also went to Red Robin for the first time in months about a week ago, as well. I was hoping to see both Derek and Chewy, since Derek pestered Shannon and me about coming in. xD But it was only Chewy... it was nice to see him, though! And Carter works at the Red Robin, too! o_O I thought that he worked at the one in Loveland, so it was a surprise to see him. xD He came over and we chatted for a bit, and he made me promise to come in and see him more often.

I've also had my first few therapy sessions with Natalie. She seems like a really nice person... and it's been kind of stabilizing to get back into therapy. xD It's like "Okay, I'm in therapy, the world is normal now." But yeah... I'm going to see her for the summer (at $15 a session, though ;o;). But she's taking Britney's place in the fall, so I'm probably going to continue seeing her once school starts again.

Speaking of... I finally decided to take "World Music." xD It's my last semester, and I want to have a few fun classes. And I'm much happier when I have a music class, anyway. But I'm the first person to sign up for it. I wonder if I'll be the only one in it..? There will probably be more people signing up as it gets closer to August.

It's a good thing I'm working all of these hours, though. e_e; Manga is taking over my life! I'm already buying them so much... and now there's a new series I want to check out. xD It is so good, though.

148- Home.

May. 16th, 2007 10:38 pm
jupiterhalo: (Honour)
Yay, I'm finally home. :D

Liz and I woke up at about 9:45, did some last minute packing and stuff, loaded up the PT Cruiser with my stuff and about 11 of her boxes, and off we went to Starbucks to get some chai tea before I dropped her off at work.

Once that happened, I went and got gas, then found my way back to I-70 (after missing the turn once xD). I considered stopping in Parachute, but decided against it. I just drove straight through again, and it took me about the same amount of time to get home as it did to get to Grand Junction, so that was cool. ^_^

Finally made it back home at 4:45, and the first place I went to (even before going home) was Barnes and Noble. They had volumes 4 and 5 of "FAKE," so I snagged those immediately. T_T You have no idea how many places I looked for those stupid books when I was in Grand Junction. xD Then I went over to Best Buy... and they have the special edition of "Gundam SEED Destiny" volume 7! So that made me happy... until I looked at the price. $35 for the DVD and a box. So I forced myself to wait.

So, I got a lot of stuff when I was over on the Western Slope! I'm very satisfied with everything. In the end, here's the loot I ended up with:

~"Soul Calibur III" for the PS2
~Volumes 4 and 5 of "Angel Sanctuary"
~"Gundam SEED" volume 4 DVD

Not quite as much as I had expected, but definitely good stuff. And I still have about $30 left from my travel money, too. ^_^ As a bonus, I came home to one of my tax refund checks, as well~ AND I get paid tomorrow. xD So, I'll have plenty of money for whatever comes... like when Liz comes here on Sunday and stuff. That'll be chill.

Dude, omg! Speaking of work... there have been, like, CRAZY developments at work while I was gone. First off, they changed the clocking system so we have to clock in at the registers in our department, instead of at the time clock. T_T What a hesu and a half, even though I knew about that before I left.

Second, MaryAnn got demoted! O_O I have no idea what happened, but yeah... apparently she got kicked down from Merchandising manager to Jewelry manager. Sara got put in MaryAnn's position, I guess, and Andrea is now the RTW manager.

All I can say is "WTF?!" Sheesh, you leave for, like, five days and everything goes berserk on you. I don't want Andrea to be my manager... T_T I like Sara! I don't like Andrea! Although, if Andrea's manager she may let Shannon and me work together more. xD But, still! To Andrea I say: DO NOT WANT!

...Anyway. I'm exhausted. xD It's been a very long day, and it will be nice to sleep in a bed again. Although, I do want to play more "RE 4" and "SC III"...

jupiterhalo: (You're all I need)
Well, here I am, all alone while Liz is at work. :3

It's kind of cool hanging out here in the pod by myself. xD She was nice enough to let me use her laptop, so I'm going around checking all of the usual sites. I'll be by myself until she gets off work at 7, and then I'm not quite sure what we're going to do.

But, yeah. I didn't get to bed until after 3 this morning, as Liz and I were talking about hamsters. xD; It was very giguely. I woke up a few times during the night, but I actually slept quite well, considering that I'm sleeping on the floor. I woke up at 11, saw that Muss had texted me, and tried to get Liz up a few times. I can see why she always wants me to call her and wake her up, because she just doesn't like to get up at all. But, she eventually got up at... 11:50 or something like that.

Yesterday, we went to Border's~! It was so cool... they had so much manga. e_e I haven't bought manga in such a long time, so I went crazy. I bought volumes four and five of "Angel Sanctuary," and some other stuff as well. :D It was nice to shop for books.

And on a totally unrelated subject, I looked at my final grades a few days ago. I ended up with an A in Humanities, a B in Music History, an A in Sociology, a B in Anthropology, and an A in Comp. So, definitely not a bad semester. :D I really enjoyed it.

I think tomorrow we're going to go shopping and do some sight-seeing. The cards yesterday said we were going to do a lot of exploring, so I'm looking forward to that. I really want to go to Heart of the Dragon; it sounds like such an awesome store. But today, I think we're just going to chill.

And I think I may actually go take a nap. e_e; I'm still kind of tired... or I'll read some of my new books! :D We shall see.

Wheee, Jacob read my card and sent me a nice e-mail about it. :D

That makes me very happy; I sent him one back. Hopefully we can start talking again.

Edit:

I had my first accident with Tina-chan tonight! :0 Some guy rear-ended me at Harmony and Shields. But it seems like Tina-chan has an indestructible bumper like Foxxxy, because she doesn't even have a scratch on her (at least none that I could see). So I sent him merrily on his way...

And since I got hungry, I went to McDonald's for some nugs. Is it bad when the McDonald's guy that hits on you knows your order and what your car looks like? :/

And while I was waiting for my nugs, I saw some cop pull a guy over for absolutely no reason. Wtf.

And I've got to stop going to Barnes and Noble... xD; I bought two more books today. "Platinum Garden" volume 3 and "FAKE" volume 1, and I had them order "Angel Sanctuary" volume 1 for me. It's so tempting, I just can't resist... ;o;

Gracious.

School wasn't all that bad today. Even though I have so much going on, the day goes by really quickly. It also helped that I had some granola bars and stuff to eat between classes. At least I wasn't fainting from hunger like I was last Wednesday. xD

My Comp teacher is hilarious. I think I'm going to get out of that class late every time we meet, since he likes to tell us so many anecdotes and personal stories. xD But that's fine; I love teachers that are like that. And Beal's a dad- his daughter (I think) is six weeks old. :D

Speaking of Beal, I actually spoke up in his class today. No one seemed to know much about Constantine, so I eventually piped up with the answers. xD; Still... some of the kids in my class make me go "Wut?"

I'm happy that tomorrow I only have one class, though. And this week is my Wednesday off, so that is fun too. A nice long break from work. I want to try and head over to Lane Bryant's sometime soon. They're closing the store, so they're having major sales right now. I've never been in there, but now seems like a good time to check it out. :D

I've been reading all of my Resident Evil books again; this time in chronological order, not when they were released. It's been really fun! I'm on Code Veronica, with the scary zombie on the cover. I also need to bust out "Resident Evil 4" again and try to finish it. I think I'm almost 4/5 of the way through, so I can't stop now!

I also need to find a complete copy of "Resident Evil 2" and play that. :/

Mmmm... I need to write more often. xD My inner muse is begging to be let out; which is why I need to work on my Scott x Jean fic! xD At least I have it started, and I know what's going to happen. Maybe I'll try and get some of that finished tomorrow.

I redid my LJ layout... it was having too many emergencies. So, I like this new one better (I use it for Sayuki's journal) but I'm not quite sold on the purple yet. But, I can always change it if I want to; it's not like it's set in stone.

"South Park" in Japanese is hilarious. xD Much love for Hiro and Kappei, as well as the guy who plays Cartman. "Chef-san!" "Hatto-kun!"
