226- OMFG
OKAY. SO.
Shannon came over to my house earlier so we could play some Final Fantasy IX together and try to get through as much as we could. Hopefully I can have it finished by the end of the week, since I just got to the last disc tonight. The first place you go to in the last disc after getting everyone settled is this place called Memoria. And in Memoria, there are these four guardians that the party has to defeat.
The first guardian is called Maliris, and she was relatively easy to beat. So I continue on and get a little father in the game, until I come up against the second guardian, Tiamat. I was under the impression that he would also be relatively easy to beat. But! He has this attack where he casts Float on a character, and if Tiamat gets attacked physically in any way, he blows away whichever character has Float cast on him/herself. And, that's exactly what happened in the beginning of the battle. Tiamat blew away my two best characters in my party, Steiner and Zidane. Which meant that I only had Vivi and Garnet left.
Tiamat can also absorb any MP/Strength/Magic/whatever from whoever is left attacking him. And that's what kept happening to Vivi and Garnet; normally, when Garnet summons Bahamut, he ends up doing at least 2000-4000 damage. However, as the battle went on, Bahamut was only doing 81 damage every time he was summoned. It was the same case for Vivi; his Drain spell normally does at least 1000-1200 damage a turn. But when he cast it on Tiamat, he was only draining about 54 damage max. And Garnet kept running out of MP, so I used up all 11 of my Elixirs and about 11 of my Tents to supply her with enough MP to keep summoning Bahamut, as he was the only attack that was doing more than 50 damage. It also didn't help that Vivi and Garnet kept getting bitten by a snake or dying from Tiamat. xD;
I began fighting Tiamat at around 9:15; I didn't kill him until at least 10:15. Tiamat has 60,000 HP, and I was only doing a max of around 200 damage a turn (if I was lucky). God, that fight took FOREVER. xD We were so relieved once he finally died. I decided that I was done playing the game for the night, and went back to the save point at the beginning of the game and stopped there.
I think it's really amusing when people review my stories on ff.net. I haven't updated a story there in two years; most of the ones people review or add to their favorites are ones that incredibly old. I keep getting e-mails about people adding my Sailor Moon stories to their favorites, which cracks me up. xD I wrote those stories about seven years ago, back when I was still into that fandom. But anyway! I had this person leave me this really amusing review about one of my Fushigi Yuugi stories. It was a Hotohori/Miaka fic, and I guess that I had an assassin try to kill Hotohori. xD This person wrote me the review, saying 'I wonder who the assassin was? I bet it was Taka!'
I had to write them back saying that I don't remember too many details about that story; I honestly can't look at any stories/essays/etc. I've written once I'm done. For some reason, I can't stand to read my own work. So I wasn't about to go back and read it to see what I've done. They wrote me another e-mail, asking me if I'd write another Fushigi Yuugi fic. It was pretty amusing, I thought.
And wheee! I had a good review for my job, and I even got a $0.75 raise! It was pretty awesome!
Okay, enough ranting from me. xD; I'm tired.
